OK, Im ready to help. I have already done some initial research and here is what Ive come up with.
Below is a Map of all Texas congressional districts
http://congdistdata.tamu.edu/USCongressionalDistricts.pdf
The following districts and Congressman/women represent the H Town area.
District 2 : Ted Poe (R)
District 7 : John Culberson (R)
District 8: Kevin Brady (R)
District 9: Al Green
District 10: Michael McCall (R)
District 14 : Ron Paul (R)
District 18: Sheila Jackson Lee (D)
District 22: Nick Lampson (D) - District formerly held my Tom DeLay
District 29: Gene Green (D)
I dont know where most of the Republican stand on CIR. About the Democrats here is their stand.
Sheila Jackson Lee and Al Green (Both African American) are for CIR
Nick Lampson - He has already come out and said he will vote against STRIVE or any CIR bill if there is a provision to adjust status of those who are already hee legally.
Gene Green - Im not sure. So i think we should focus on Gene Green and the Republicans.

For those worried about not being able to live in the UK, I say "Don't worry, you are not missing a great deal".
I have lived & worked in UK for a couple of years many years back. Like most of my acquaintances at that time I didn't (want to) live there long. Most of my friends left for US, I returned to India. And then to US.
Life is US has its problems, the immigration backlog is one of them. But it is really a walk in the park compared to that in Britain. UK is one of the most racist society I have ever seen. There is racism in all countries (even in India, we call it Casteism) but no where as overt as in UK. In UK, the work culture isn't all that great, life is boring and the weather sucks. No wonder a recent investigation by BBC reported that 7 out of 10 Britons now prefer to live outside UK mainly because it's high cost of living, lack of livable space and for little more sunshine. And that number is growing every year. In % terms, that's the highest number and in absolute terms it is the 3rd highest expat population of any country, only India & China ranks higher. Britons now prefer the sunny & more livable places such as Spain (culture), Australia (language) and Florida (proximity).
When I left UK, it was with relief. Now when I visit UK on work or enroute to other countries, I feel sorry for the folks back there. I would any day prefer living in India - if not in US - than living in UK.

There is an on AILA titled...Update (Such As It Is) on the Visa Bulletin Debacle (Updated 2pm)
Does anyone know what it is about?
AILA REPORTING THAT ANNOUNCEMENT UNLIKELY TODAY
The American Immigration Lawyers Association is now telling members not to expect an announcement today. It is not clear why USCIS has delayed an announcement, but I will report as I learn more

Do you mean RFE (request for Evidence) by "Query on H-1 Transfer " ? This happens all the time with any benefit application. You need to explain what that query is? If company C will respond to it by providing the evidence USCIS wants, things will take care of themselves.
Yes can still go ahead and transfer to D only if you are sure the query will be addressed by company C and the approval for H1-B transfer is 100% certain. Normally it may be a good idea to wait for the approval.

Specific Adjudication Process Steps by Form Type on My Case Status: When customers check their case status online, the process steps they see will now be specific to the petition or application they submitted. Until recently, the website listed seven identical process steps for all forms, even though not all the steps applied to all the forms. With the new feature, process steps are customized for more than 40 form types.
I like that. Thanks for posting the update.
I do not see any change in the verbiage for case status for the applications we filed. Or is it their intent that "Initial Review" is such a specific status to our application?

Do you know Ozone layer depletion is because of Anti-Immigrants?
These anti-Immigrants are all mostly Jobless people who are incompetent in their jobs. They are lazy fat bums who sit on their a$$ and fart all day from behind as well as from their mouth using hate speech. This has caused too much of harmful gases in atmostphere and have depleted ozone. Their extra weight has sunken many couches and added a lot of broken couches in junkyards. These disposed couches are adding extra weight on the earth and causing earth to sink 1 milimeter every year. A new study will soon be reported in the Onion news.

Many times you get 10 year visa that does not mean they can stay for 10 years. You never get to stay more than 6 months and under exceptional circumstances that is increased to a year.
First of all, does US consulate give visa valid for 2 months? I know some countries do, especially if you are applying through SOTC like travel agents.
Ok.. to answer your question: Your parents _must_ start within 2 months from the time 2-month Visa issued. In other words, your parents must travel before the expiry of Visa in the passport.
Once they come here, how long can they stay _legally_ in USA depends on I-94 card. Typically I-94 card will be given with an expiry date, which I belive will not be _beyond_ expiry date of the Visa in the passport.
Hope this helps!!

I was thinking of local office visits only. If you are from MD, then we can go together to visit the Senators in Baltimore or Hagerstown.
I am from the 6th district and my representative is Roscoe G. Bartlett. He has an office in Frederick and I will try to meet him there.
I have not decided when to visit. May be in a couple of weeks.
I'd be interested, are you planning to do local or DC offices?
I have met with staffers from offices of both MD senators a few times (in their DC offices) and I have been to the DC office of my local Congress woman.
Let me know when you are planning to go.

"The mission of Immigration Voice is to organize grassroots efforts and resources to solve several problems in the employment based green card process including (a) delays due to Retrogression (visa number unavailability for certain employment-based categories) (b) delays due to USCIS processing backlogs and (c) delays due to Labor Certification backlogs. We will work to remove these and other flaws by supporting changes to immigration law for high-skilled legal employment-based immigrants. High-skilled legal immigrants strengthen the United States' economy and help maintain American technological superiority"

Hello,
The dept. of labor uses two types of codes, one of which is the SOC code. Yours may be a SOC code (Standard Occupational Classification) or the other one (name I can't remember). If you look at Murthy.com and search for articles on AC21, you'll find information on the two types of codes the DOL uses. The go to the DOL website and do a search for the two types of occupational codes and see which classification system your code matches. Once you access the classification, just look for your number and it should give you a brief description. I did this for my code.

Hi,
I am quite frustrated with my present situation. Here's my sad story:
I came to US on L1B Visa through company A. In 2010 Company B filed for my H1B. They asked me to pay half of the H1B filing money ($1500) which will be returned later. They sent me a document mentioning that as a training cost which I signed and paid them online $1500. I shouldn't have done this. My mistake. I was never given any training and money was not returned. :(
Company B also verbally committed to me that they'll be paying me roughly 80% of the client project contract amount which they will be getting from the client. They asked me to sigh the contract document with them which mentioned my salary way to less than expected. When I asked why the salary is mentioned too less here, they mentioned that don't worry about it. It is done to keep the agreement same as LCA filled. And I'll be getting what I was promised. the contract document also mentioned that if i leave the company within 1 year, I'll be paying liquidity damages to the company. This was big trap which I didn't understand that time and signed the document. This was my 2nd biggest mistake. :(
Now for last 5 months they are paying me at very lower rate (what was in the contract which is roughly 50% of client project contract amount). I called them on phone and they mentioned that they'll eventually release my salaries but they never released. I sent many emails that this is not what I should be getting as per the commitment given but they never replied to my emails. I mentioned in the emails cleary that what I should be getting. So now they haven't paid me almost $8,000 in last 5 months.
I am planning to quit the company B and join company C.
Here are my questions:
1) Is there any way I can complain legally about Company B and get my money? I have sent many emails that mentions what I should be getting. Does emails can be used in this case?
2) If I leave the company B and join company C. Can they drag me to the court to pay for liquidity damages since I left them within 1 year?
I moved to H1B thinking that I would have a better life but it has become way more worse. Please advise me what are the best suggestions for me in this situation. Thanks a lot. :)
Please help me !!
Regards.
Hrithik.

Sorry about the denial. I had a friend in the same situation. BE + MBA from IIM Cal. His I140 rejected too....for the same reason may be....even IIMs accept 3 year degrees and that is what caused the issue. The more i read about these things, the more I think that MBA is not considered equivalent to MS for the I140. Even though MBAs have more challenging jobs and earn way more than people with MS. It all boils down to demand supply thing. Many people in the US have MBAs but not MS.

I recently started work with a new employer using my EAD. I have a pending RFE on my 485 which I have to respond to in a couple of weeks. However, today I noticed that my 485 got a soft LUD of the day following the day I started with my new employer. My new employer uses eVerify but I didnt expect that it could be linked with a pending 485. Maybe I am wrong but I see no reason for the USCIS to touch my 485 until I have responded to the RFE.
Has anyone else noticed something similar when you started with a new employer using eVerify?
