When renewing EAD paper filing not E-file, I had written the check in favor of USCIS instead of "U.S.Department of Homeland security" , do you think there would be a issue for them to accept the cheque?

The scanned the bar code on the fingerprinting notice and asked to verify the A#, dob etc. that popped up on the computer screen. I think the receipt number was there too.
Does any one remember if at the time of finger printing for 485, did they enter the Receipt Number, A# or both in their computer.
I am have some issues with multiple A#s and I need this information.
Please reply only if you are sure.

Agree with Hpandey, in this situation, 245K would help and any out of status period is counted only from the time after his latest entry, any out of status periods before that do not matter. Even without 245K i dont think the USCIS will make a big deal of this or even notice, but you never know.

Two I140 in process with a difference of one years in the priority date (one original and one recently filled substitution with improved PD). Which I-140 should be used for I485. IF PD goes back to retrogration, the substitution would help with a risk of getting reject as well. The original I140 has less risk but if PD goes in retrogration, it might get years to get I-485 approve. Suggestions?
I asked this question to my lawyer and he said he would including info about both I-140's and they USCIS will chose one. I am not sure what it would depend on but my lawyer is knowledge and he said I would not to pick on. I believe I would get the earlier PD if the pending I-140 is approved

Considering the state of the economy and considering that the most important poisiton to save is that of the primary applicant, I suggest that USCIS process cases of primary applicants asap.
Family members can contnue on EAD for long time; however if the principal applicant loses job and can not find another one, the entire family is done - pack bags and leave.
What do you think?

My case is not premium processing and the online status changed to "approval notice sent " for 4 days before the status changed to " document sent ". Its an I 140 and I heard that the mistake was restricted to PP cases . So I do not think that is the issue . Some one said it could be the last status on an approved I 140

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this situation:
I filed 140 and 485 concurrently (July, 2007). Today I received an email update saying that a RFE has been sent about my 485 petition. There's a LUD update for my 485 but my 140 seems untouched. What kind of issues with the case would prompt an RFE for the 485 before the 140 is processed? Is this for a second set of fingerprints or could this be something more serious? Thanks in advance for your responses.
Any issue with Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate (if you are a dependent), Medical report & etc could trigger an RFE.
May be your 140 is approvable & 485 will be approved as soon as you reply to the RFE.
I have seen other posts in this forum where people have reported that they received both 485 and 140 approvals together.
Whatever the RFE is, reply to it ASAP and you should be lucky enough to get your GC before the dates change.

I worked for company A as a full time employee from May 21st,07 to July 11th,08 and then company B filled my H1B transfer on June06th,08 and I joined company B on June 17th, 08 as a full time employee.
So there is a overlap, I mean I worked for company A and Company B as a Full time employee from June 17th,08 - July 11th,08 and got full time salary from both of these companies.
1. So will it be a issue, if companyB or some other company sponsers me a Green card in future?
2. Can I use the experience letter issued by the CompanyA for Green Card purposes? If not then shall I mention to my attorney/Company who will sponser me Green card that I worked for companyA till June 16th,08 and there is no overlap.

skarthy: Upgrade your H1 transfer to premium processing, get the transfer approved. Re-enter the country by showing your wife's old H1 stamping, get a new I-94 based on new approved H1 petition at POE. This is a easy route; If I were you, I will do this.

However, considering the fact that the USCIS currently rejects the "Other Worker" category I-485 applications even though June 2007 Visa Bulletin show current for certain applicants because the "other worker" category quota was exhausted on June 5, 2007. This raises a serious concern because as we reported earlier today, the USCIS appears to be picking up the speed of processing of backlog I-485 applications in anticipation of flood of July 485 applications.
